What’s the story for IN MOMENTS LIKE THIS ?
Short answer maybe, but question one and two goes together; ”In moments link this” come to life when I actually started to realize that my music and lyrics was good enough to release.
Your compositions and your texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
The songs are a bit old. ”Stop in my heart” and ”without you” was actually made almost 12 years ago, when Rejka lived in Greece for a short while. She missed a dear, shall we call it ”friend” very much and got inspiration for the lyrics from that. ”not the one to blame” is almost six year old now and Rejka wrote it with inspiration from a boyfriend, now an ex-boyfriend who was ”suffocating” her with his bad way of being towards her. ”Living in the mirror land” was inspired by a a transgender fiend of Rejka. Rejka tried to sett her mind into how it would be to be captured in the wrong body and on your way to a change, if you know what I mean. But all the songs on ”in moments like this” was recorded 2019 to be released 2020.
Are you day or night ?
Day or night? hmmm… I’m a working girl, so I have to be awake and mostly live in the day. But if I’m off work and stuck in my ”studio” I can easily be a night person ;) it all depends on what day of the week it is! ;) I hope I got your question right here :P
What’s your top 5 albums of all time ?
Oh my god! Top album, this is very hard for me! I’m more of a songs kind of girl..I love songs who touch some part of my soul, it’s very rare that a whole album dose this with me. but I have two albums I always have to listen through. 1. the album ”Union” from the band ”yes” and 2. the album ”Dark side of the moon” from ”Pink Floyd”.
In the shower or in the bath, do you sing ? If yes, your songs or those of others ?
In the shower I sing, not so much in the bath I rather just chill and maybe watch a movie or an episode of a serie . But in the shower I sing and the I sing a variation of songs, my own songs and songs by others, I think the last song was ”komplicerade” by ”miss li”.
In studio, what was the atmosphere for your EP ?...etc.…
In the studio the atmosphere was chilled out, after I threw my spouse out of the apartment - I rather work without someone near me ;) okey I don’t do it all the time, but my songs comes out better if no one is around me. Then I feel that I can work more free with my feelings and my soul where my songs and lyrics comes from.
How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?
The cover art of the album is just I nice picture of me, my first album released by me should me a picture of me, easy as that, right? . And the title ”in moments like this”.. well it just came to me as I was listning through my songs. We all have moments like this… And to get in to the next single you are going to ask about, ”live my life”. It was a nice shot of me and I feel the cover art had the energy I wanted to provide with this song. And the title, ”live my life” is the same as the songs on the single.
How was the shooting of the clip live my life ? and why this choice ?
”Live my life”. I did two versions of this song, one electronic and one acoustic. The shooting for the video of the electronic version we shot in an abandon factory building and why.. hmm… it’s was a really nice environment with a lot of dust I could play around with. That’s why.. I think.. I don’t think I had a plan for it. I just went with my creativity and let my heart decide where to go. My dear friend and bandmate from ”Reclaim the Silence, Sebastian Elmlund, helped out with the camera work, Thank you for that Sebastian! For the acoustic version, Sebastian Elmlund, helped with the recording of the acoustic guitar on the song, yeah I’m not super good with the guitar so I’m very happy I have friend helping me out in time in need, so of course I wanted him in this music video. The scene of this video is in a Swedish frost bitten forest, I thought this was the perfect shot for the acoustic version for this song, due to it being more emotion than the electronic one. In this video my boyfriend, David Lundell, helps with the camera work, so a big thank you to him for that! It was the first time I ever let a spouse be a part of my work. I normally don’t feel too comfortable with this.
