Hi, we are CHARLOTTE'S SHADOW.
The name “Charlotte's Shadow”...why?
I(J.Catala) chose the name CHARLOTTE'S SHADOW, from a Goth comic that I was reading at the time, about a girl called Charlotte who was been followed by the dark side of herself (her shadow), which she couldn't shake off. And I think this represents well the sentiments of the band.
Who composes? How that is held between you?
Well, first I(J.Catala) do composed the melody, music , lyrics, programming of the whole songs then A.Avalos start composing the bass line and at the end Blas Bernal add with his guitar something more giving to the song the feeling we want to concluded with. So the songs have a touched of everyone of us!
What music style do you prefer personally and what are your influences?
As a band we draw inspiration from many sources, but mainly from the romanticism that has dominated the early Goth scene, this is what we try to remain faithful to.
What's your opinion about the actual rock gothic scene at your place?
Sadly, it's not as popular as other styles of music like the electronic but we are very grateful to our public for being so faithful to the music we do. Besides I think that many people use our music as a form of escapism from their everyday lives, something they can identify with, so in that sense it brings great comfort to people. This is why I feel that goth/Rock is here to stay.
Generally, what is the reaction of the public at the time of your concerts?
We should consider ourselves lucky because at this point we always keep the attention of the people during the concerts, so I believe we could called that to obtain a good respond from the audience and it's exactly what make us go ahead with this project!
