How are you! My name is Midian , I am from Guadalajara Mexico, it is a pleasure and an honor to present our music with all of you.
What’s the story for ASHES & GLORY ?
ASHES AND GLORY is the second album that we present and it was written and created in a very difficult stage in which I was, the death of my father, the rupture of the first formation of the band were causes that really contributed to the theme and sound of the same.
Who composes? ... How does it work in the duo ?
The lyrics are mine and we create the music together, sometimes we have a guitar base and from there we start to take everything to technology, to synthesizers.
Who writes the texts ? .. What are they talking about ? .. How does inspiration come ?
The texts are written by me. Our lyrics talk about sexuality pushed to the limit to Depravity and about believing in yourself, enjoying who you are, what you have and what you have become. Inspiration comes from what we like to do, what we believe and what we enjoy, they are influenced by philosophers and writers and artists such as Georges Batailles, Clive Barker, Michael Angelo Buonarroti, Dante Alighieri, Lavey, Marquis de Sade etc.
Why the name MIDIAN DITE ?
Midian was taken from the Clive Barker movie Nightbreed and Dite from Dante's Divine Comedy and I adopted those names as the capital of sin.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
I love rock and metal in all its forms, but I really enjoy black metal, industrial, death metal. I am very open to music I love Ministry, NIN, Skinny Puppy and also bands like Depeche Mode, Behemoth, Marilyn Manson, White Zombie, Deathstars, HOCICO, Cradle of filth, Profanum among others.
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
All our presentations because I love being on stage and receiving all the energy of the people, listening to sing our songs and seeing them dance really fills me with energy.
In studio, what was the atmosphere for your new album ? ... etc ...
As always work hard because we take music very seriously but although it is tiring and difficult we always try to make the day easier between jokes and anecdotes good ideas arrive while the music flows .
How does it work for the great design of the CD ? and why this title ?
For me the whole album is important from photography, art, sound, lyrics. The art we use is a tribute to many of the artists who have influenced us, such as Michael Angelo Buonarroti to Marilyn Manson, we decided to take a part of something that impacted us at the time and add our touch. ASHES AND GLORY refers to the dark moment in which I was, I was sunk, sad and I felt really alone, I was ashes and the goal in my mind was to create the album despite all the adversities and finishing it for me is to rise to glory.
How was the shooting of the clip STELLAR CARAVAN ? and why this choice ?
We recorded the video in one day, we started 8 in the morning and finished at 9:00 p.m. for the video I decided to invite some of the people who support the band, who are always at the presentations and even buy our merchandise, we do not use models professionals or actors but I thought it would be a good way to thank you for all your support, so the girls in the video are friends and even my girlfriend ... STELLAR CARAVAN was the first song on the album that we wrote and it talks about believing in yourself , to get ahead and not sink because of what people say about you or do against you so I have great affection for it and it was the one indicated to be the first single from the album.
With Management and booking, how do you work ? And with whom ?
Has supported us a lot of people and I appreciate that very much, we have not worked with a manager or large record label so the little we have achieved has been due to our effort, already in this album we received support from the MIC record label LABEL from Russia for Digital promotion and on some platforms.
Would you like to work with an artist ? If so who ?
I love shows that are spectacular like Rammstein, Rob Zombie so I would like to play live with one of them and to make a song or sing a duet I have always dreamed of Nergal from Behemoth and Marilyn Manson.
What are your projects ? (For the duo)
We are promoting the ASHES AND GLORY but we are already writing new music because I plan to release a new EP for early 2021 and I am also with the ideas for a new video of some of the songs on the new EP .
What's your motto ?
As our song says, TOGETHER WE ARE ONE song that has become an anthem for us and our fans ...
