Hello my name is “Without Name” and I am bass player in The Way Of Purity. Firstly, I would like to stress the fact that we only exist as a message and that we are not actually a “band”. TWOP is a collective of Vegans and Vegetarians that joined forces to create a way to spread a message...In the end, we decided to do it through music 'cause we are able to reach more people using this medium. However, one day, we could decide to change and just be an ALF cell or a spoken words tour, or use whatever form that could be effective and powerful to convert people to veganism, and bring the problem of animal rights under the light of the sun. We are here only for the animals and this is our religion, we are like a cult, we exist but you don't know who we are, no names, no photos 'cause we have completely denied our egos for this cause.
What’s the story for SCHWARZ ODER ROT ?
Black is death, the eternal darkness that you meet when you die, and blood is the suffering, the pain. The way that we have developed this theory is more like that the world will end [in fact the full title is Schwarz Oder Rot (The sound of the end)] therefore if you don't kill yourself now, you can go ahead and see what is going to happen in the future. We think there will be 9.8 billion humans in 2050...How can this mass of flesh believe it will survive with resources that are about to end?? In our vision, you will see red which is your blood, the blood that you will shed as other humans eat you alive because there's no food or water left. You have to choose: die now or see the future, which is simply fucking scary.
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
I wrote all the songs in studio, in 10 days. The sound guy has first tracked all the pre-productions/demos for me then all the others, have joined me in studio for one month and we have recorded all the instruments, vocals ecc. Nobody had the time to practice or study the parts...They had to listen and simply play. The cool thing iabout this album is that I have written all the riffs as normal and then reversed them using a computer recording all the songs in a reverse mode to make it sound fresh, new...something that I would never normally do, write it like this now . I am quite happy with the songs...They are cool!
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
All the lyrics are written by Faceless which is a Jolly in TWOP...He sings, he does all the spoken parts, stands behind keyboards, Computer, Synth. He doesn't have a fixed instrument he's more like a 360 degress Jolly. Obviously, the lyrics are all inspired by our Religion and our message. We are working towards the day when Animals and Nature with their integrity, will rule the planet again. The human race will be brutally exterminated. The Anthropocentric lie has to come to an end and humans have to see the terrifying, and piercing effigy of horror that they have inflicted on animals for ages. Humanity is ill, infected with the worst disease that is called Speciesism. Our religon consists in The message about God intended as nature (animals and the perfection of their creation) is our faith, the power of self control, and correction of human errors through the inspiration of the perfection of animals.
We are the hand of God, we're here to bring the animals message to the wrongdoers of humanity. This is what the lyrics are about.
Why the name THE WAY OF PURITY ?
The way of purity is a path to follow. It's about the choices you make. If you walk this path, you will stay pure because it will not corrupt your body with dead animals (meat) if you do this, you are walking in the way of purity. It's all about that, stay pure without regret for having killed sentient beings that wanted to live and without filling up your body with dead rotting animals.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
The biggest influences for TWOP are Christian Death (only with Rozz), The Cure, The Sisters Of Mercy, Joy Division, Interpol, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Converge, Neurosis, As I Lay Dying, Lorna Shore... Basically all the Dark wave from the 8o's the new Shoegaze and metallic hardcore / Punk.
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
The best live memories are all from the 3 months european tour that we did supporting Negura Bunget. We have played so many shows in so many different places and we had so much fun, while spreading our message to the people. We loved that tour and we will never forget it, also, because it included some big festivals and a lot of great venue shows.
In studio, what was the atmosphere for your new album ?...etc.…
The atmosphere in studio was really chill I have to say. We all moved there (cause we are all from different countries) and we lived in the studio (there's an apartment beside it) for a whole month recording all day but also cooking, chatting, laughing etc...Every room was filled with our music...In one room xLOSTmyFAITHx was creating vocals with Saitam, in another room the drummer was creating the drum patterns, in another room I was preparing the song for the following day... It was like a mini factory where everyone did their bit solely for the pure sake of art.
How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?
The artwork of the cd is simply our symbol which is the GOAT (created by Aleister Crowley), and stands for the strenght of animals, the brutal power of mother nature... This is perfectly in line with our religion. This album will be released on digipack via Wormholedeath so inside you will find a lot of cool things! In this case the goat is red on a black background to fit with the concept “Black or Red”.
How was the shooting of the clip SPECTRAL ? and why this choice ?
The shooting went quite smooth...We didn't face any particular trouble. It was shot in the studio while recording the album. We have chosen “Spectral” just because it was the last song written for the album. so it was there, fresh and exciting...Ready to be featured in a video...So we did it!
What are your projects ?
We would like to tour again in the near future...We will see if it's possible according to do with our hectic daily lifes. Shortly, we will start preparing the live show...Then we will see if it will be possible to play live or not. Also, we are now promoting the album so we are very busy with that. It appears the feedback has been great so far and it's growing day by day...Therefore we are keeping the hype high on the album.

Remove vanity and unnecessary self-importance. Nobility, self-sacrifice, denial of ego.

What would you like to say to the readers ?
Stop eating animals, don't support all the suffering and the acts of depression that exists behind the meat industry. You don't need it, also it's not healthy because of the antibiotics that are given to animals, their lifes are not healthy and as such, they are all sick...and so you go on to eat the meat of an animal filled up with shitty medications, sick because they have been living their whole life in a cage, depressed and sad sleeping their own feces. Think of it, just eat natural and healthy food which is what we were created for. Thanx a lot for your support Hugues, we are absolutely grateful.
