We are Amniac, a four piece band from Piraeus Greece, and we play a mix of sludge, doom and post metal
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
The songs are composed and arranged by the four of us. Usually Antonis our guitarist writes the basic theme and then we work mutually on the whole track, adding or removing parts.
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
We all contribute to the lyrics as well. For our new release, we focused on the role and struggle of woman in society throughout history, influenced by what we see every day through the internet and news.
Why the name AMNIAC ?
It doesn't mean anything in particular, but it's based on the word amniotic.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
For sure every post/doom band like Isis, Cult of Luna, Amenra etc has been a major influence to our sound. But the fact that individually we have different taste in various music genre, is giving an extra spice.
What's your opinion about the current music scene in Greece ?
There is a huge wave of fresh bands from all kinds of music types, with very dynamic presence, having the potential to become well known outside the borders
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
Definitely our first release! It was a one of kind experience to play an entire album for the first time live.
What are your future dates ?
After our release we 're planning to have some live dates around Greece.
In studio, what was the ambiance for the new album MATRIARCH ?...etc.…
To be honest not very different to our daily routine as a band. We were gust more focused on the tracks that's all
