Death By Horse is a punk-rock-isch band with a female vocalist. Members of the band are: Jahna, Lead vocalist Tommy, guitarist and backing vocalist Fredrik, guitarist and backing vocalist Ola, bass Jim, drums
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
We are all composers in the band. It usually starts with Tommy and Jahna having an idea then whoever gets a feeling puts his ideas in it and we make a good mixture.
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
Jahna and Tommy wrote all the lyrics to the first album. We write about real life and how “awfullsome” it can be. Like we say in one of our songs. "Reality hits hard, and it fucking hurts!"
Why the name DEATH BY HORSE ?
We love our bands name! It’s fucking awesome! It’s up to you what you want it to mean. All we can say is that a horse is a powerful but beautiful creature that can turn its back on you when you least expect it.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
Our musictaste in the band is widespread. Some of us love punk, SKA, punkrock and hardcore but also grunge and simple, naked singer-songwriting. Some of us also love death metal and such. Our drummer Jim loves Travis Barker. Experimental hip hop like Death Grips are cool too!
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
Tuff one, but for me (Jahna) it's probably when we played “Little Girl” at Babel in Malmö. The sudden silence was magical and I felt a sincere connection with the audience.
What would be the festival of your dreams ?(with you playing in it of course !!!)
Warp tour, definitely!
What are your future dates ?
For the time being we are writing at new material but we will start playing again in early spring 2017. A teaser is that you may see us in Holland...
