Present yourself to the readers

Hello! I'm Garrett Moore Devil Gone Public

Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?

Alex Rappaport(guitar) composed the music on Smokehound, with James and Brandon writing their own individual parts. During the creative process each person adds a new flavor and really comes to the table with a whole new perspective on the piece of music. Devil Gone Public is most definitely a team effort.

Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?

I write the majority of the lyrics, either about things that I've dealt with, or things people I love have dealt with. I also write a lot of "fictional" songs as well, "Galactic Amnesia" is about an alien overlord coming to Earth to sleep with our woman and annihilate us all!
Theres inspiration everywhere, especially cruising down the highway blasting' Black Sabbath

Why the name DEVIL GONE PUBLIC ?

Our name was inspired by what the Devil and Satan represents to those who live in fear. The Devil is just the personification of mankind's most primal instict: Free Will.

What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?

Personally, some of my favorite bands right now are Stone Temple Pilots, He Is Legend, Clutch, Down, Every Time I Die, Goatsnake, Slipknot. As a band, we take inspiration from so many different artists and genres, which is what I think makes this band so interesting.

Generally, what's the reaction of the public during your concerts ?

Lots of headbanging.

What's your best live memory ? And why ?

The best live memory is definitely from our first show the four of us had ever played together in 2008, when we were 13 and under a different band name, Brian Johnson and Scotti Hill(Skid Row) hopped on stage at our hometown Irish Pub and played five AC/DC songs with us to a packed room. Can't beat that.

And the worst one ? :-D

My worst show experience was undoubtably at a club that was called Trax in Tampa, FL. The whole band happened to get food poisoning which is a fucking nightmare to happen for a show.

What would be the festival of your dreams ?(with you playing in it of course !!!)

Guns N' Roses, Slipknot, Between The Buried And Me, Clutch, Every Time I Die, Down, He Is Legend, Devil Gone Public

What are your future dates ?

Right now, we've got a date booked in Sanford, FL at West End Trading Co. with some great Florida metal bands. Right now we're very busy with the release of the record and we've got a lot of stuff really cool stuff in the works :)

Devil Gone Public

In studio, what was the ambiance for the album SMOKEHOUND ?...etc

We had a blast in the studio working with our producer Rob Caldwell. Smokehound is our debut record, so being that this is our first, there was a lot of excitement in the air and we really pushed ourselves to make a record that not only would we be proud of, but one that rock n' roll fans all over the world could listen to and find enjoyment, as well. We recorded this banger pretty old school man, the drums are all real, the guitars are all real, the vocals aren't autotuned into oblivion. I think real music fans are hungry for some real rock n' roll, created by humans, with real soul…I know I am

How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this tiltle ?

I thought of the title Smokehound and I knew right away that was it. It sounds cool! The artwork was created by my friend Amber Cross of Sarasota, FL. She created the concept of our Witchdoctor mascot and does such an incredible job of visually capturing our music into a single image. Amber also designed our shirts for us, available for purchase on our bandcamp.

Did you find a label ? If yes, how do you made the research ?

We're currently working independently and shopping for the perfect company to form a partnership with.

With Management and booking, how do you work ? And with whom ?

We're partnered with Shae Beaudoin of Taureau Music Group

What are your projects ?

Right now we are focusing on promoting our new record as well as writing our next record, in which we've got two INSANE songs completed. We're very very busy behind the scenes. We would like to get out on tour in the next couple months.

What do you expect from the future ?

Devil Gone Public is planning to do a lot of touring, release a lot more music, and have a lot of fun doing it.

What's your motto ?

Rock N' Roll ;)
