Introduce you to the readers
We are 4 Swedish guys who formed a rock n roll band e few years ago. Tired of our jobs, we started this band to get the opportunity to tour and have a good time with nice rock n roll people.
Who composes ? How does it work in the band ?
I make most of the songs and lyrics. I'm a kind of control freak so I can't let anyone else be involved in something that important as making songs.
Who writes the texts ?..About what are they talking ?..How does inspiration comes ?
The lyrics use to be about the usual things...shitty religions and people we don't like. Religion is a great subject to write about in a Rock n roll song. Inspiration comes from many different sources. television, news, and so on...
Why the name THE CURSE ?
I don't know really... Rock n roll is a curse and a drug...we felt that The Curse where a better choice than The Drugs.
What are your musical tastes and influences ?
We have a lot of different influences. New York dolls, The who, MC5....like most other bands.
What's your view on the current music scene in Sweden ?
I think the Swedish music scene is a bit poor. We never play in Sweden cos It's just a waste of time. We use to reject requests from Swedish venues and festivals. Maybe in the future but now for the moment we don't have any intentions to play here.
Generally, what's the public reaction during your concert ?
We use to have great response but in the beginning we also had the opposite. It took a while until we found our audience. Nowadays people know what to expect from a gig with the Curse.
What's your best live memory ? Why ?
2 years ago we played at a place in Chemitz, Germany. We had a good time and the audience where hot. We got called back to play some more songs and suddenly the singer of Die Toten Hosen, Campino, jumped the stage and we did some Ramones songs together... Great evening.
And the worst one ?
I don't let those memories stay... hahaa
