Present yourself to the audience
Hi there. I am Veronica.. you can call me "V" from the new metal band Benedictum. We appreciate the time you are taking to read about us and wish you many head banging days courtesy of Benedictum ;-). We are from San Diego California where it is so beautiful damn near all the time so I am spoiled by the weather here. We hope that some day soon we can come out to jam for you and we can rock together. I hope you enjoy our debut album UNCREATION for we sure enjoyed recording it.. what a Blast!!!
What musicstyle do you prefer personaly and what are your influences ?
I personally have a wide variety of styles that I love... classical music soothes me, ,,
Metal gives me energy and I love Big Band music and the Blues too. The band has influences from Buddy Rich to Zack Wylde to Rainbow, Savatage, Black Sabbath to Pantera and beyond... and many more. I cant speak for all of them but that is just a few to mention now.
What's your opinion about the actual métal scene at your place ?
In San Diego right now.. I would have to be honest and say it is disappointing. I am so glad to hear that people in Europe have "kept the faith" as far as metal goes. There are some things going on here but it is just not like it was. Not the same drive and energy. One really needs to go to Los Angeles to have anything going on and even there it could use some help. But the reality is that it IS getting better. There seems to definitely be a comeback going on.
What would be the festival of your dreams ? (with you playing in it of course !)
Ah very cool question. Lets take this to the limit and have it be the FANTASY FESTIVAL...it would be the Monsters of Rock Festival circa 1990 in Moscow - of course there was Pantera, Megadeath, Metallica.. you know the line up. .. lets add a few more elements.. Benedictum. Dio, Chimaira, Astral Doors, Lamb of God, Arch Enemy , Testament, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden... Lets throw in some Ozzy circa Randy Rhoads ..lets go there and the place would be packed the weather perfect and the party jumping off!!!! That is the fantasy festival... the one that shall never be... but ohh if only it could have been.
What do you expect from the future ?
We would love to see enough positive interest in this band that we can get over to Europe to play in 2006. We are scheduled to tour with Gravedigger in 2007 in January. I hope that this album will take off and that people will enjoy it. We had a great time putting it together and I hope that reflects in the energy of this project. The future will really depend on how this album is received. We hope it will be positive!
What is your motto in life ?
I have several mottos. One would be to live this life to the fullest and to be good to one another. If you look at this life that we have in the big picture of it all, it is like a flash or a blink. What do you want to do with you blink?? That is what I ask myself each day. I want to use this gift of life that I have for some sort of positive means. I want to make a difference. I guess that is more of a philosophy than a motto but there it is.
Is there something you'd like to say to the audience ?
Give the album Uncreation a try. We enjoyed making it and hope that many, many people will rock to it, bang there heads to it...and feel good when they listen to it. Thanks for taking the time to read this.. Benedictum thanks you!!
