Flauros, Darzamat's vocalist : The band was founded in the middle of 90ties and has released five albums so far : "In The Flames Of Black Art", "In The Opium Of Black Veil", "Oniriad", "Semidevilish" and the latest one entitled "Transkarpatia". "Oniriad" was a musical experiment and has nothing in common with today's Darzamat's music. The two first albums which were placed in black metal atmosphere are much closer to the latest album. "Semidevilish" is for the people who love hard sound combined with melody.
However, it is undoubtedly "Transkarpatia" that is the most important record for us. Musically speaking for us it is the very direction Darzamat wants to follow, other words - the proper direction. We have finally managed to come to the point in which we were working with the real producer. The album was produced by Andy La Rocque (King Diamond's guitar player) in his studio "Los Angered Recordings" in Goeteborg. It is a magnificent place and Andy is the amazing man. He is a real professional as well as a very modest and cheerful guy. I believe that what had a large influence on the sound of "Transkarpatia" was not only Andy's huge knowledge and abilities but the superb atmosphere one felt in his studio as well.

What musicstyle do you prefer personaly and what are your influences ?

Personally, I practically like every brand of metal starting with the classical bands and ending with the most freaked out, weird, twisted and degenerated ones. What the most important thing is for the music to be of a high quality and at a high level. There are, however, no particular bands that would directly influence what we have been doing in the band. It is obvious and inevitable for the musical press always to find a kind of comparison. Sometimes it is the comparison I can even agree with but these totally absurd and idiotic ones also do occur. Every band's member has his personal favourite bands, yet as I have already mentioned it is not in any big a way mirrored in our musical creations.

What's your opinion about the actual métal scene in Poland ?

I have got no doubts that Poland is nowadays one of the best developing metal scenes in Europe. We have got many other fantastic bands. Especially in the most extreme brands of this kind, death and black metal as well as grindcore. One cannot, however, forget about some other bands such as e.g. progressive Riverside. More and more bands from our country have been signing contracts with good european record companies, appear in the schedules of the concert tours and festivals not only in our continent but in the States as well.

What is your best live memorie ? And why ?

I have got plenty of wonderful memories from our performances alive and it is really hard for me to point to that most important one. It is certain that what impressed me a lot was the last year's concert we played together with Entombed in Italy. It was a very personal matter for me as when I was 15, I happened to be a huge fan of this band and as late as last year I had the possibility to see them alive. (laugh)

What would be the festival of your dreams ? (with you playing in it of course !)

There are for sure many festivals Darzamat has not played on yet and it would be truly fantastic if we could present ourselves on them. Still, my favourite one is the German "Wacken Open Air" as well as the american circuit festival "Ozzfest". It is truly amazing what large a number of extreme sounds' fans appears on these concerts. Accordingly, presenting oneself in front of such an auditorium must be a fantastic experience.

What do you expect from the future ?

I hope that the band will follow the path we ourselves have chosen and it will not swerve from it. (laugh) I would also like to find such a record company which will provide much better albums' distribution and promotion for the band. Without these things the music we create can be received by a very small group of people.

What is your motto in life ?

Act in accordance with your conscience and do not regret anything we have done in our life.
