Present yourself to the audience
Hi there. I'm Gianni, singer of The Orange Man Theory. We are a band from Rome and have been playing since 2003. Our producer is Steve Austin from Today Is The Day and our album is out on Indelirium Records. Definitely, we're here to rock.
What musicstyle do you prefer personaly and what are your influences ?
We have various music influences as each component is used to listen to different music genres. I'm personally most into USA-noise-rock scene from 90's (Dazzling Killmen, Shellac, Don Caballero, Today is the day, Unsane) but also 70's british rock such as Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, Led Zeppelin etc... However, there are also good albums that we Oranges appreciate while driving to reach the town we're gonna play in. Lately they are Slayer - Reign in blood, Metallica - Kill em all, Converge - Jane Doe, Today is the day - In the Eyes Of God, Opeth - Ghost's Reveries and many others. The Orange Man Theory also like shit from Hank Williams Jr and country music in general.
What's your opinion about the actual metal scene in at your place ?
The actual metal (and punk, hardcore) scene is growing years after another and this is fine. In Italy there are many bands that rock such as Zu, Inferno, Motorama and many others. Apart from these ones, the problem is that everything seems to be stylised and stereotyped as so many bands play the music that's trendy right now without trying to create something different. As far as it's normal to be influenced by the music of the period you live through, we have ever wanted to create something which was personal and closer to our personality. What would be the festival of your dreams ? (with you playing in it of course !)
The best festival ever is Wacken Fest, that takes place every summer in a small town near Hamburg, Germany. It's the most exciting, crowded and pissed-off festival of the world!
Rivers of beer and 50.000 metalhead brothers party hard as hell three days long. The bands' line up is true-metal oriented and the atmosphere is friendly and goat-like...
What do you expect from the future ?
We are expecting the results of our hard work in keeping this project alive. Our album came out on December and we are rocking all across Italy to promote it at best. On April we're gonna tour France and Switzerland with a Swiss band called Cortez. This summer we're gonna rock all over the South Of America (Colombia, Bolivia, Uruguay, Peru, Chile, Equador, Argentina) for more than a month. After the summer we plan on touring Germany and the UK with our friends The PB Army from the US. We are just working hard in these days. There are many people, web-zines and underground environments involved that support us and this fills us with joy and satisfation. The biggest thanks go to our label Indelirium Records and our management Alkemist Fanatix Europe, but also to the people that come to our shows and the guys like you who keep this scene productive and powerful!
What is your motto in life ?
"Gimme some Goat" is one of the latest weird anthems of the band. It refers to a new song about the easy - satanists who are slave of the trend they follow and subordinate themselves to an hypothetical "evil-god" as well as the Christians do with God. There is a lot of wrong information about Satanism thanks to the media that have ever labelled this philosophy as Evil, though this needed some better explanation. While perfoming live we try to be real and communicate the reason why we are fucking doing this instead of living a "normal" life. The reason is that we sold our souls to Rock n roll.;-)))))
