(BIOGRAPHY)
Marem Ladson is a Spanish singer-songwriter of American and Galician descent. Her music combines folk, pop, and rock into a powerfully evolving sound. Born in 1997 in Ourense, Galicia, Ladson started writing short stories and poems at the age of 9, and after learning to play guitar, she composes her first songs.
Showing an early interest in music and a profound admiration for artists like Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin or Neil Young, Ladson develops little by little a set of songs that combine folk and pop. After spending her childhood and teenage years between Ourense, New York, and Houston, she relocates to Madrid.
Her first single, “All My Storms”, released in May 2017 by indie record label Mont Ventoux, placed her in the focus of attention of Spanish music media and allowed her to play in prestigious festivals such as DCODE, Vida, Monkey Week or American Autumn. She has also supported bands like Denison Witmer, Laura Gibson or Dirty Ray (Immaculate Fools).
Her self-titled debut LP (Mont Ventoux, 2018), produced and mixed by Brian Hunt and Juan Diego Gosálvez at El Invernadero in Madrid, is a record of personal and autobiographical experiences, a diary of self-discovery where she questions her own inquietudes. 11 songs full of honesty and vulnerability.

What's your opinion about the current music scene in Spain ?
In Spain there´s a very interesting music scene, there are many young artists doing great stuff, like Mourn, Hinds, Calavera, Baywaves, Solo Astra, St Woods, Rosalía, Bad Gyal, Núria Graham, Nathy Peluso, María Arnal I Marcel Bages... just to name some of them.
In studio, what was the ambiance for the album MAREM LADSON ?
Working with Brian was extraordinary, he has so much experience as a producer and musician, so we connected very quickly.. Both Juandi and Brian perfectly understood what I was looking for and made it possible. I feel very privileged to be working with them.
How does it work for the design of the CD?
We wanted the album to look elegant and simple. Alejandra Vacuii shot the cover photo and Montalban studio made the design.
What do you expect from the future ?
This year I will be touring with my band and I hope people enjoy the shows.
