Hi, I'm Pedro Morcego vocals and composer of the band and we are Phantom Vision an alternative band composed by five elements, James Dead on the keyboards, Carlão plays the drums, Pedro Barradas the guitars and Veronique divine is our beautiful performer and dancer. The band started as Electric Wet Dreams but by the time we released our first album by the british label Nightbreed Recordings we changed our name to Phantom Vision. That was by the beginning of the year 2000. Since then we've been playing a lot around Europe and of course specially in Portugal. We play a theatrical profound live act, very interesting. Our first four albuns reached the DAC charts. One of our songs can be heard on an episode of NCIS Navy by Paramount Pictures. That song is “The Darkest Skies” from our second album, Traces of Solitude by the north american label, Cop International. And then, 9 years with no new album, just thinking and composing, very slowly I mean. Now we are back with our sixth album – Guilty wich is certainly one of my favourites.
What’s the story behind GUILTY ?
Well, no one is innocent, so suposedly that makes every single one of us somehow a guilty person in the limit. As you see the artwork is basicaly based on an image of a sad afterwork clown, sitting on his poor chair, thinking. Something, that you can see is probably some guilty, is destroying him from the inside. Some guilties are bigger than others, of course. And the story is behind that strenght to fight that guilty destroying you even if, in the case of the chosen clown, he has to stand firm and smile with his heart to his enchanted audience and do a great job making other people smile. All this came, of course, long time before this new fabulous movie of the Joker came out as the entire album was written long before the previous one, Ghosts, came to light in 2015. I'm mentioning this because of the dirty minds or maybe just because I'm getting older eheh
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
Since the beginning I was mostly the main composer of the songs but that will change in the next album, I promise.
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
I also write the lyrics with few exceptions and my lyrics talk about everything. I don't know where my inspiration comes from, It surprises me either.
