Present yourself to the readers
Hello we are Ash Code from Italy and we play together since 2014. We have made two albums and the second one will be released in the end of this month , we are very curious to find out if you like it as the first.
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
The tracks are made in this way : Alessandro prepares a sequence of bass arpeggiator and drums , then I put the synths lines and then together we compose the voice melody and Adriano make the baritone guitar part. Eventually we enrich everything with industrial sounds , we like to sample something from the world around us to make our sound dirtier.
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
The lyrics are written by me and Claudia , they dealing in many topics , mainly they analyze feelings or to express some ideas about certain things . Our sources of inspiration are the experiences that we live , and then the places we visit, the books we read, the movies we watch and the music we listen of course .
Why the name ASH CODE ?
The band's name was found by chance , we were looking for some words that they had as the initial letters of our names , we find these two words and they liked for the meaning they evoke put together. Although it is a very heavy speech , we are ash in code , that is, we are already ashes under another form . But we look on the bright side , just because one day we will all be ash decoded , we must enjoy the life.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
We have different musical tastes . I come from a grunge past, and from about twelve years I listen to post punk , new wave , electro and all derivatives . The other guys listen to everything from indie rock to EBM , with particular attention to our kind. We love very much Bauhaus , Joy Division , the Cure , Dead Can Dance and Sisters of mercy : at this time , however, we are just listening heavily to David Bowie , for obvious reasons.
Generally, what's the reaction of the public during your concerts ?
Generally they have fun , dance . Sometimes they ask for more or sing the songs ...that's the greatest satisfaction!
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
Probably the Wave Gotik Treffen . We had to open the festival on sunday at Volkspalast (one of the most beautiful in the festival stages) . although it was early sunday afternoon the place was almost full.. The regulars of the festival told us it was strange that so many people have arrived so soon . The best moment was their clamor after the concert , fortunately we have a videodiary of that day(you can watch it online) , I think it’s carved in our memories.
What would be the festival of your dreams ?(with you playing in it of course !!!)
Currently for us the best is Wave Gotik Treffen. But in the future we hope to play in big festivals like Primavera/Sziget and not only in the gothwave festivals.
What are your future dates ?
We’ll play in Cesena with Kirlian Camera , then in March we will be in Germany for three days in concert with the Soft Moon , The Tempers and Mr.Kitty, and then in April at Waveteeff in Belgium.
