Hello, we are “The Revolters” from Istanbul.
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
When we play together, we bring the self-made materials to the studio in order to put them in a song form generally.
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
After composing and arranging the full song. The inspiration always comes after finishing the track or during rehearsals of the songs.
Why the name THE REVOLTERS ?
We always see ourselves as a musical revolter against the standarts and copycat-esque mainstream status of modern music industry.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
We have a wide range influences from 50’s rockabilly to 80’s new wave- post punk. And we think today’s music genre classifications are solely based on complicated cross-genre influences and so ours.
What's your opinion about the current music scene in Turkey ?
We started making music when there was an “actually noteable music scene” in Istanbul. Now we can’t even count more than a couple of names that we can accept as a spearheading role of Turkish alternative music scene. And we definitely don’t want to talk about mainstream music industry which is total garbage.
Generally, what's the reaction of the public during your concerts ?
We love performing live. The reaction of the public is one of the reasons behind it.
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
Playing in front of a huge crowd or small. Every gig has its own memories. And if you are asking this to performing musician, he’d most likely answer it as the best is the one that I can’t even remember.
What would be the festival of your dreams ?(with you playing in it of course !!!)
We accept Glastonbury as a check point.
