Hi there, we are Hellhumm, a Dark electronic music band from Madrid, Spain ;-)
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
The three of us compose and bring ideas
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
Ignacio does the lyrics and vocal melodies... The lyrics talk mostly about human relationships... the wicked and painful ones, mostly...
Why the name HELLHUMM ?
We wanted two mis two words... This combination sounded good enough for us... We also added a second "m" because it looked better when written. There's also this thing about some sort of "hum" that it's been heard around the world... It's a sound that aparently has no logical explanation... we found that interesting.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
We are pretty eclectic... Apart from influences from Nitzer Ebb, Front242, Skinny puppy or Depeche Mode, there's even something from Björk, Diamanda Galás or the Riot girls movement.
What's your opinion about the current music scene in Spain ?
Things are not so good in Spain. Ther's not much support, and not many specialized labels. Since our album was out, 95% of the orders where from other countries, mostly Germany. There's also the piracy problem, which is huge in Spain.
Generally, what's the reaction of the public during your concerts ?
It seems that they have as much fun as we do
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
It was great to hear someone from the audience of our last live gig singing one of the synth's melodies from "no Dawn"
What would be the festival of your dreams ?(with you playing in it of course !!!)
We would say Amphi, Mera luna, Sonar and others….
