Hello, we are Aeleth and Dae from LA SCALTRA from Germany! Thanks for your time, nice to meet you! <3

Who composes ?...How does it work in the duo ?

I am composing with my bassguitar, my voice and a few computer programs, and Dae tells me if my muse was right or wrong. Then I finish those songs with my boyfriend, who also plays guitar for LA SCALTRA, and only when everyone is satisfied with the result, we put it to our musical repertoire.

Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?

I write the texts, sometimes alone, sometimes with Dae. When thoughts and experiences are crawling through our brains like sheer demons, we write them down to cause no trouble.

Sometimes there are brainwaves and we write them down. Where they come from.... we often do not know.

Why the name LA SCALTRA ?

The name “LA SCALTRA” came from our friend, there was no intention behind this. We found out it means some cunning and tricky woman. Like a witch maybe? Like we are?

What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?

I prefered Metal and Gothrock all my life. LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT, SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES, THE CURE, SISTERS OF MERCY, just to name a few. And on the metallic side are my favorites MORBID ANGEL, INQUISITION, BEHEMOTH, SATYRICON and early GORGOROTH. Besides I love CHELSEA WOLFE.

I love the sound of the 80s, especially NICK CAVE, SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES, SISTERS OF MERCY, THE CURE. But I also love music like MOI DIX MOIS, I love the style of MANA as a musician and a fashionable model. And of course CHELSEA WOLFE!

Generally, what's the reaction of the public during your concerts ?

In fact, we just had one concert yet and the reactions were very positive... we did not expect so many smiling and cheering people. Never ever. We are so happy about it.

We were so overwhelmed, we did not expect this at all.

What's your best live memory ? And why ?

The whole concert was the best yet. But we do not have any comparisons at the moment. We surely will keep every single gig in mind, every gig is special for us.

We are excited for what comes next and we will do our best to leave a gloomy mood and good memories for everyone.

What would be the festival of your dreams ?(with you playing in it of course !!!)

We are proud of every moment playing live, so we don't have dreams of a festival. Every gig is a dream came true for us, no matter if it is a big deal or a small one.

What are your future dates ?

In August 20th 2016 we are visiting Reading in UK for the SACROSANCT FESTIVAL, in September 23rd 2016 we will play as opening act for the wonderful HOUSE OF USHER in Oberhausen, Germany. And there are some more dates on the plan... we will tell you when it is safe.

In studio, what was the ambiance for the great album CABARET ?...etc.…

I think the best ambiance for recording an album is a familiar place. We always record and create our music at home, so we are relaxed and in a good mood.

How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?

We just had in mind to do something with black and white and purple, and to keep it simple.
The idea to Cabaret is that life is sometimes full of sadness, drama and grief, the dark side of being. Like a gloomy cabaret or stage play, in a horrific way, where those feelings unite.

Did you find a label ? If yes, how do you made the research ?

Recently we became part of SOLAR LODGE and are very happy to be part of this great label. We were asked if we are interested and we agreed.

With Management and booking, how do you work ? And with whom ?

We manage everything together. Every inquiry concerning LA SCALTRA is a question of everyone who is part of this band, nothing less. We decide together and make plans together.

What are your projects ?

I still work at home for my own music with AELETH KAVEN. Besides I do some guest vocals for a friend of mine with his projects and support them. One of them is CHOROBA, a Metal Project.

I don't have any other projects than LA SCALTRA at the moment.

What do you expect from the future ?

A healthy life for my beloved and me as long as possible to do whatever the universe has provided.

To be able to still make music and live the way I like. A lot of fun and travel and just to be what we always have been.
