Hallo! We are ABONOS, band from Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro (ex Yugoslavia). We exist about five years and we have one, selftitled, album released. It contains 10 songs which describes different moods and feelings. In the same time listener can feel beutiness and shiver. Critics about the album are mostly positive which is, I think, because of it's diversity. We published it as a self-release and it is available on our web-page: www.abonosband.com, print run is limited. Most people say that our music is gothic metal, but we also include a lot of other metal genres, such as thrash, power, prog, black... The lyrics are mixture of Serbian and English with different themes. We are famous here with attractive live performances.

What musicstyle do your prefer personaly and what are your influences ?

All six of us in the band listen very wide spectar of music. We are all fans of all kinds of rock/metal music so we don't hesitate to include all of that influences in our songs. In that way we break the boundaries and I think that fans of all metal sub-genres like us. We are some kind of link between metal sub-genres. I personaly prefer everything from old rock to the most extreme metal. Old thrash mostly, doom, power, prog, death, gothic... My favorite bands are Candlemass, Annihilator, Death, Sanctuary, Solitude Aeturnus, OverKill, Carcass, King Diamond, Fates Warning... I am the collector and fun of all metal/rock music styles.

What's your opinion about the actual metal scene in Serbia-Montenegro ?

Metal scene is getting bigger day by day, meaning that there are more and more young bands. People here nowdays plays more than ever. But that is not enough for the good scene: we do not have enough record labels, medias...and other peole who would support and make market from it, like everywhere in Europe, America... But there are lot of bands who have qualities and potentials. I am the optimist, as far as I am in Metal so many years and I didn't quit it yet. So it is a metter of strong will. The scene will be better.

What would be the festival of your dreams ? (with you playing in it of course !)

Maybe it would be Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzieg in Germany where we are proposed to perform and it would be the best thing for us if we could play there. Band selection works by voting on the forum of the festival www.wave-gotik-treffen.de so if you like, want to help and support ABONOS to perform on this festival, please vote! There is also Female Voices Fest in Belgium where we would perfectly fit in the festival concept. Of course we would like to perform on some of the biggest festivals such as Dynamo open air fest in Eindhoven, or Wacken open air in Germany where we would play with the biggest names of metal scene. I would like to go, with the band, in the United States to play on some underground festival. Peple from US are mostly interested in our music.

What do you expect from the future ?

I expect to somebody abroad uncover us and give us a chance that we deserved, because we have a lot of years of exsisting and lot of experience. In the future I expect that our music be available to the people around the world, and that we will have a chance to travel and play around the Europe and world, with payed costs and without problems with visas, which is mostly happens when band wants to play abroad. Wish us luck!

What is your motto in life ?

I am watching my own bussiness and that is what I would suggest to the other people. I am trying not to quit in any creative work and be alternative and positive, beside the enviroment. Majority is not always right. It is harder, but I feel better.
