Present yourself to the audience
Here we are, Braindamage from Turin, Italy, we exist since 1988, as seminal thrash-metal band. We have four cd's and a lot of demo on our shoulders, we've been playing and touring with bands like Killing Joke, whom we toured Europe in '91, playing in Bruxelles too...we have collaborations with people like Steve Albini, bands like Voivod, Kreator, Pestilence and many others. We'd many changes of line-up but the core of the band Gigi and me (Andrea) is still pushing on from the start. Last cd, "War Against The almighty" has been produced and recorded in Germany at Spacelab Studios, with the production of a close friend of us, oliver Phillips, from german prog band Everon.
What musicstyle do you prefer personaly and what are your influences ?
Our influences and music style ranges from Blue Oyster Cult 'til Nile...passing through Testament, Motorhead, Incantation, Voivod...Prog, death, thrash, psichedelia... it is such a mess of different "milieus" (think I am 42 and Marco is 23!!!!), that it is quite impossible to reconduct all in a single way of playing, even if in the last months we are playing a lot of thrash covers, to have more unity in composing, since we are starting to compose the next cd...
What's your opinion about the actual metal scene in Italy ?
Very active! Lot of bands, lot of people playing...too bad the nation is the same, land of pavarotti, pope and provincialism... It is very sad but is true, I most played outside Italy than in Italy, but i do hope something will change in the next years..
