My name is David and I sing for the band American Eyes
What musicstyle do you prefer personaly and what are your influences?
To be honest with you I am a fan of all types of music. I can pick certain aspects that I respect.But growing up I was really into raw dark sounding punk bands that played from their heart and had something to say. I loved and still love bands like, Fugazi, Bad Brains, Bauhaus, and F.Y.P. I am still heavily influence by those bands but I have grown to respect and learn from a bigger pool.
What's your opinion about the actual rock scene at your place?
I love the scene right now in Los Angeles. It seems that kids are really excited about seeing music. For a while kids were jaded and would rather go to dance clubs then see live rock but that turning around for the better.
Plus right now there are so many other great bands coming out of this area making it really exciting.
What is your best live memorie ? And why ?
Probably last years taste of chaos. It was really a culmination of all sorts. Going from small clubs to sharing a stage with My Chemical Romance and The used, playing in front of 15,000 people is really surreal..
What would be the festival of your dreams ? (with you playing in it of course !)
Hmmmmm I would love to play Redding or Leads festival in Europe and have my pick of the line up. I would totally be selfish and only pick the bands that I want to see live. So I will say American Eyes w/ Ours, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Notwist, Bauhaus, Failure,Dillinger Escape Plan, and The Beach Boys. That's good enough line up to cause a seizure.
What do you expect from the future ?
Hopefully to be able to do write, record, and play music for the rest of my life. Just to be able to keep on making a living off of something that I truly love to do.
What is your motto in life ?
Live we always play with a 100% emotion. On stage I don't give a fuck about anything accept getting my art across. If we are having a bad show you will know it because I will be the first one to start breaking all of our shit out of frustration. We will never lie to the audience. Every night you never know what you are going to get. We never do the same show twice.
