Insane was formed in 1997, in Budapest, and the current lineup is stable from 2004: Knapp Oszkár (vocals), Érsek Gábor (drums), Lehelváry Péter (bass), Kádár László (guitars), and Bende Imre (guitars). We have 3 albums recorded, the first in 2002 (Searching for thoughts), the second in 2003 (XXI: century poison), and the third in the january of 2005, wich is called King of Fools. Thanks to this last one we're getting a bit more known through Europe too. Back in Hungary, we're a stable act of the local underground scene, lots of people on gigs, tours, tv-appearances, etc. We're trying to reach the same all through Europe, wich is a kinda big challenge.
What musicstyle do you prefer personaly and what are your influences?
Milyen zenei stílusokat szerettek személyesen? Mik a hatások?
This is kinda chaotic, actually it's almost the same, cos we all listen to metal music, but it's easier if I say it separatedly.

What's your opinion about the actual métal scene in Hungary ?
Mi a véleményetek a jelenlegi Magyar metal helyzetrol?
I think it's the same in all european countries, that naturally no kinds of media is interested in this style, except a few magazines and tv-shows. .The main problem is the financial problem of the fans. Hungarian teenagers can usually spend about 10-20 euros for cd-s, concerts, entartainment etc. per month. And this is the point where the whole stuff dies. Irrespectively of this, there is a kinda ig core of guys, who always come to see us, and bands like us, and at the countryside playing on bigger festivals work really well for us too. It's far from ideal, but we think it's getting better and better all the time.
The other main problem is that hongarian metal/rock media is not really opened for new music. They're still glorifying 20-30 years old bands, wich is not a problem, until they steal the chance from the younger generations. These young bands don't really get the chance to be under the spotlight, and lots of them just split up after a while.
But those boys and girls, who come to see us are absolutely grateful and opened for fresh, new stuff, maybe it's becouse they're the young generation. And The internet is really useful for this too. At the countryside, less people come to see us, but we have really great parties there too, becouse the audience is just awesome.
What is your best live memorie ? And why ?
Mi a kedvenc koncertélményetek? És miért?
We have lots of great and positive experiences, so its hard to separate. We played as a support with bigger bands, where 1000-5000 people were shouting and screaming, so those were great gigs, but anyway, our biggest show was our latest album-release concert. We played as a support with bigger bands for almost all the year, so we didn't know what was the reflection for this new cd. And the result was absolutely amazing: a sold out gig with unbelievable audience, and a great great gig.
I personally like the small clubs much more, cos it's more like a family. That's why I just loved the european club tour. The summer festivals are good, cos we can play on bigger stages, for more people, but the contact is much less personal between the band and the audience.
What would be the festival of your dreams ? (with you playing in it of course !)
Melyik az álmaitok fesztiválja amin fellépnétek?
To be honest, we're not really a festival band. We like the clubbing much better. You know, we're the best when standing next to 300-400 people. Of course, we would be goddamn happy if we could play on the big european metal festivals like Wacken Open Air, or With Full Force, etc. Almost all countries have a big summer festival what would be good to play on. But I think, every metal band's biggest dream (even it is goddamn huge, and smells like money) is playing on Ozzfest... :)
Ozzfest! ;-)
What do you expect from the future ?
Mit vártok a jövotol?
It would be cool to find a bigger, professional label with this new "King of Fools" album, but if it won't work, then to record a really powerful, and colorful fourth album in 2006. And we want this cd to be recorded in a real metal-specialized studio. And the most important, is to tour around Europe with a bigger band, and of course maybe to go a bit overseas! :)
I would spend the whole next year with touring, touring, touring, and writing the new insane-album. With this new one, I want us to have more than a half year for songwriting.
What is your motto in life ?
Mi a mottótok?
Motto? Good question! Actually, we don't have any, we didn't even think about this before, maybe it can be "Pop is dead!" or something... To be serious, we don't have and I don't think we will ever have. We play music, party, love, hate, live, die, etc... :)
Our motto: Rock'n'roll!
Is there something you'd like to say to the audience ?
Van valami amit megosztanátok a közönséggel ?
The most important: visit our site ( www.insanemusic.hu ), listen to our songs, and if you like it, just write us, we answer to everyone. Last but not least: Don't let anyone to affect your taste, and listen only to honest music!
And for those who like our music: really, just write us, and we will definetly answer, and check the website as often as you can, maybe some time, we'll just appear in your neigborhood, to make some goddamn noise...
