Present yourself to the audience
Dear Listeners! We are called GRENOUER and we come from Russia. The band has been playing since late 1992 and since there were some considerable line up changes the music of GRENOUER was undergoing different changes. In the early start the band was into brutal death metal, nowadays we are more experimenting I believe playing on the verge of tech metal. I am called Andrey IND, I am responsible for vocals and for the lyrics of course.
What music style do you prefer personally and what are your influences ?
Well right now I enjoy any kind of metal music that leaves much space for something unusual and unpredictable. I do admire a lot works of recent IN FLAMES, DEVIN TOWNSEND (any of his project!) and MESHUGGAH - 100% for sure! I suppose that GRENOUER members enjoy music of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, and many of course! So we find interest both in extreme metal and alternative metal.
What's your opinion about the actual métal scene in Russia ?
I must admit that Russian scene is not that feeble as it might seem from the West. Well, yeah, there's no well developed metal market here and not many label abroad are willing to sign a Russian project however good it is. Still, here are many prominent musician doing their best and finally some of them do manage to break through, like FOREST STREAM (signed to Elitist Recs) or TARTHARIA (signed to Crash Music Inc.). Maybe you have also heard of RAKOTH, MENTAL HOME, ROSSOMAHAR or SCRUMBLED DEFFUNCTS. I hope that someday hypocrite labels will draw their attention to Russian scene.
