I AM.. a singer, writer and visionary.
Your texts and your compositions ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
My writings are composed of emotion & life experiences both as a woman and an observer.
I will use anything that moves me & allows me to feel something & translate it into music. My new EP ‘Feelings’ is the epitome of my described writing style.
My songs depict female empowerment, matters of the heart with strong connotations of my growth.
My writing is very personal & personable.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
My personal music tastes are eclectic and vastly varied to say the least. I will vibe to Syd (The Internet), Sza & Jhene Aiko depending on my mood or I can switch it all the way over to Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar & the likes.
I also vibe to more underground artists like Empress Imani, Ego Ella May & Graft to name a few.
I’m influenced by life in all of its chaotic beauty so any musician who captures these anecdotes influences me.
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
I have 3.
Performing at The Olympics 2012 in London as the opening act for the Band Stand stage was EPIC & hearing Usain Bolt win shortly after performing was a whole entire vibe!
My self released debut ‘The Butterfly EP’ launch party in 2014 at The Wardrobe in Leeds. I performed with a full band including a string quartet & guest rapper Weezy Jefferson. The venue was full.. I walked onto the stage to a sea of faces.. it was beautiful & felt like home.
Earlier this month I released a second EP 'Feelings' and I was honoured to have had a massive amount of sponsorship namely from Accent Clothing who were both my clothing and venue sponsor, Paramount Music who event organised, Studio12 who dressed the venue and provided the sound alongside DJ Poyzun and many more. After my show I was so overwhelmed I cried. A lot. I feel that it was the knowing.. the validation from self that I’m living my life purpose & honouring my calling. There is no greater feeling in the human experience.
As the saying goes.. ““This above all: to thine own self be true”.
In studio, what was the ambiance for the E.P. FEELINGS ?...etc.…
I got into the studio at the beginning of 2017 with fast rising UK producer Dave O. I had so much happen in my personal life over the prior two years that I was bursting at the seams with lyrical content & so Dave O became my therapist & the writing & recording process became my therapy.
The ambience really was whatever I was feeling that day & being a Pisces sun sign I feel a lot every single day haha.
How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?
The artwork for the 3 singles released so far from my ‘Feelings’ EP all had bespoke hand created artwork by an amazingly talented artist ‘Rakayas Kolor’. I approached Rakaya after seeing her artwork in real life at an exhibition & I was breath taken by the beauty in it, along with her celebration of melanin beauty .. we exchanged details & never looked back.
‘#GoddessMode’ is a portrait of me as a woman not afraid of prowess nor vulnerability.
‘Wondering’ is again a drawing of me literally in a state of wondering holding the ancient Kemetic Ankh for protection & empowerment.
‘Oh Boy’ is a depiction of me with the beautiful soul that inspired 4 of the 6 songs on my EP including this one. I met someone who came into my life unexpectedly & changed my whole view on connections. We are wrapped up in Kundalini energy represented by the snake... he awakened something within me that had been dormant & I’m so thankful to him for that.
With Management and booking, how do you work ? And with whom ?
I am currently working on manifesting a team now. This is a great time as so much exciting things are coming into fruition for me as an artist.
I have dedicated my life to the art of music & I am so ready for all of this.
I’m shortly going to rehearsals for a sold out show at renowned ‘Belgrave’ Leeds. I’m literally swept off my feet so a great manager & booking agent would be heaven sent right now. Currently I’m managing everything alone including all the radio, live show bookings & enquiries myself which is fun but hectic.

What are your projects ?
Up next is a promotional tour which is in planing & a host of live shows too.
I am due back into the studio too & I have a couple of completed singles to release before the year is out hopefully one of which I am particularly excited about.
What do you expect from the future ?
I have huge dreams to tour the world & also to write for other artists so a publishing deal is a big goal & the right type of record deal would give me a huge platform to do what I do best which is sing. I’ve just been awarded the first funding pot of my career & all I am permitted to say at the moment is that it is from a UK music organisation that is respected throughout the world!
