My name is Linnéa Rigeblad, I’m 23 years old and I live in Sweden. I work as a singer and songwriter within country/pop and my dream is to perform and create music all over the world. I just released my debut EP ‘A sweet escape’ and now I’m working on my next album.

Your texts and your compositions ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?

I write my own songs and they are always telling a story from my life. To me it’s like therapy; I deal with my emotions through my music and once I’ve written about stuff I’ve been through I feel relief and comfort.

Are you day or night ?

Can I say both… ? I’m the kind of person that needs a little bit of everything in my life and when I’ve done something for too long it bores me and I need a change. But if I have to choose I guess I’ll say night…

Why did you choose this style of music ?

I actually didn’t, haha. I’ve been singing and performing my entire life and as a kid my parents always encouraged me to try different genres and just have fun with it. But for about 3 years ago I realized that I had to choose and country/pop was a good fit so yeah, that’s how I ended up here doing this kind of music.

What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?

I love everything. Some days I sing along to ABBA and other days I’m crying to Ed Sheeran and then the next day I’m going crazy to like Guns ‘n’ roses and stuff like that and at least once a month I’m at the opera. So yea, a little bit of everything and I’m good.

What’s your top 5 albums of all time ?

Wow, tough one… I’ll have to put Adele's all three albums up there (19, 21 and 25). Then I guess David Bowie's album ‘David Bowie’ is there at the top as well and ‘Back in Black’ with AC/DC.

In the shower or in the bath, do you sing ? If yes, your songs or those of others ?

Haha yup I sing all the time. Loud. I think I sing basically everything, both my own songs and others.

In studio, what was the atmosphere for the E.P A SWEET ESCAPE ?...etc.…

‘A sweet escape’ was created on different locations in Sweden but mainly in Gothenburg and on the country side in the south of Sweden where I recorded all the vocals. Jonas Ekdahl produced and recorded all instruments on every song on the album. He is so talented and he’s been working his ass off with me to finish this EP. He’s the kind of person that asks me what I want but he also puts so much of his own to it that makes it perfect. I was so happy when he sent me the first draft of a country song and it was exactly what I had in mind. Crazy! Then I had the honor to record my vocals with Richard Larsson. His studio is amazing and he’s really good at coaching me while I’m in the booth recording. I guess it all depends on the people in the room, but I just felt so comfortable in his studio. It took me three sessions to record all the vocals on this EP and it’s a lot thanks to him and his amazing studio. Those things are important because if you’re not surrounded by the right people it will be hard for you to do your job. Richard is an expert at making me feel comfortable and confident and he always tells me when I can do better but he also encourages me to be brave and take risks which is crucial for me in order to grow as an artist and singer.

How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?

Actually, this design is made in my parents house. My dad took a picture of me, sent it to his computer and then I just added the title to it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Can’t see the point in putting hours behind that kind of stuff when I can put that time on my music instead.

With Management and booking, how do you work ? And with whom ?

Right now, I’m doing it all on my own. I wanted to try to be an independent artist and I will be for as long as I can handle all the work by myself.

Would you like to work with an artist ? If so who ?

I would do anything to work with Adele. I love her and I know she’d love me too. :-)

What would you have chosen as a job outside of music ?

I don’t know. Nothing ? I will do music for the rest of my life. I can’t imagine doing anything else. Got no backup-plan cause I know that this will work out just fine and a plan b feels like an excuse to not go through with plan a, doesn’t it ?!

What are your projects ?

I just finished and released my first EP and right now I’m working on my next album. I’ve found a few people that I’m going to work with but I’m constantly looking for more people to collaborate with. That’s the hardest part, finding the right people that wants the best for me as an artist.

What do you expect from the future ?

I want to be able to work with my music and travel the world. I really don’t wanna get stuck at just one place with the same people for the rest of my life.
