Biography
What’s the story of Angels With Attitude ?
It started when we recorded three tracks for a single with Mikko Herranen. The two original songs turned out so good, we wanted to include them on the album. So when we started recording the album with Sammy Aaltonen, he remixed those two tracks to better fit in with the other songs. With Sammy we recorded 9 new songs, so we had 11 songs for the album. It was quite a slow process, recording and mixing was done in many short sessions. But we are very happy with the result and think the album rocks!
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
The songs on this album were composed by me (Miqu). Usually I have the basics ready, which we then arrange together. That plays a really big part, everyone adding their own touch. On the next release the other guys will contribute more to composing. Already been working on a couple of Andy’s and Juha’s songs.
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
I write the lyrics as I’m the singer. The words have to fit my mouth. The lyrics are quite different in my opinion, from serious to just plain fun lyrics. Usually the inspiration comes from the mood of the song, that kinda gets the ideas flowing.
Why the name PLASTIC TEARS ?
When we started we had really glam looks. So we got a lot of crap from people thinking we weren’t real. We thought that was a stupid way to think, and went for the self-irony of Plastic Tears. And of course it sounded good too. Someone has also thought it means a used condom :D
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
The bands musical influences come from classic rock and punk, not to forget 70's glam rock. Lords of the New Church, Alice Cooper, Slade, Blondie, Hanoi Rocks, Guns ‘N Roses, Smack, New York Dolls, Dogs D’amour, Ramones, Cheap Trick and Rolling Stones can be mentioned.
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
There’s many of them. But of the recent ones our gig at Bar Loose was really good. The crowd was great, singing along, great sound, lights and Bar Loose staff was amazing too!
