Nice to meet you guys!! We are Red Soil, a melodic death metal band from Spain with 3 years of hard work behind and tones of enthusiasm for what we do. We are currently presenting our new album NEMESIS all over our country and in the last months we’ve playing in three different European countries with bands like Dark Tranquility, Equilibrium, Jinjer,etc.

What’s the story for NEMESIS ?

The idea for the release of NEMESIS takes place at the beginning of 2017 when we realized about the need for an LP. The story behind NEMESIS talks about the internal struggles of a person, showing that most of the time we become our own enemy.

Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?

Everyone in the band takes part in the process of writing, especially with the individual sections of each instrument. But the ideas for starting a song usually come from Aitor (guitar) and Nestor (vocals).

Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?

Fabio (guitar) and Nestor (vocals) are the ones who usually write the lyrics for the songs. The inspiration comes most of the time from everyday events expressed on a metaphoric way.

Why the name RED SOIL ?

The idea of the name was taken from Dyr En Grey’s song called Red Soil.

What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?

We are a band with different musical tastes. There’s a common factor in our influences which is the metal music, but we also listen to other genres like OST, classic rock, pop, modern electronic music, etc. Our influences take part in the Gothenburg sound (Swedish melodeath) with some shades of metalcore and new metal.

What's your best live memory ? And why ?

Probably our best live memory took place during the Atoma Tour with Dark Tranquility at the gig in Bourdeaux. We appeared in the stage in front of hundreds of people staring at us. It is an unforgettable memory for us.

In studio, what was the ambiance for the album NEMESIS ?...etc.…

We had tones of work to do in a few months, so it was really intense but nice at the same time. We could experience the work with professionals Alex Cappa (sound engineer for the album) and Nacho Puerto (graphics for the album) which was something new and motivating for the band as well.

How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?

We had the idea of expressing somehow the concept of the dark side of the people. That’s the reason why the person that appears in the cover has his face divided in two parts. The tittle for NEMESIS comes from the idea of representing our internal enemy, our darkest self.

How was the shooting of the clip CHAOS with Ruk ? and why this choice ?

The clip took many ours to be recorded (18 hours aproximately divided in two days), so it became really hard-working but really cool with all the different scenes, the fire, etc. We wanted Ruk to feature in the clip because he’s a mentor for us (has helped a lot since the beginning of our career with the band) and the aestethic of his band KILLUS really fits in the role that we were looking for the CHAOS character.

What are your projects ?

Currently we are looking for new dates in Spain for playing and show NEMESIS to the crowd.

What do you expect from the future ?

Improve and grow up as a band and as persons.

In Spanish : ni 100, ni 200 ni 1000. RED SOIL !!
In English : not 100, not 200 not even 1000. RED SOIL !!
