Who composes ?...How does it work in the duo ?
I (Remi) compose, write and record all the music myself. And Dani Blood does lights, samples & backup vocals in our live performances.
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
By text I assume you mean lyrics. There’s no shortage of inspiration in my life & the lyrics are a representation of that.
Why the name EYE STEAL ?
Eye’s are the window to your soul. They usually steal what they can’t have first i.e.; they spread laughter or uncomfortability in a shroom circle, emotion & window shopping lol. The eye’s are a hell of a drug.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
I don’t listen to very many new bands these days. Most of my influence’s comes from days past.
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
As Eye Steal, playing Krampus ball in Toronto was naughty & nice. But there’s something to lighting a joint on a tiny Oshawa stage that still sticks out as being naughty, which is usually more fun.
In studio, what was the ambiance for the album BURNING OUT ?...etc.…
This was the first album I have ever recorded myself. I have a tiny loft in the city, which is almost a super tiny community of musicians. I went there for this album for the peace & tree fort like vibe, it was easy to be in my mind there. The ambience for the album is definitely dark at times but a lot more empty than it has been in the past. I think that contributed a lot to the sound of the album. I had just lost a lot of friends, some close some not. So it has been very quiet for this album compared to how I’ve been living my life previously. I’m not quite sure if this is growing up or growing bitter.
How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?
The imagery on this CD is definitely a reflection of the title & a reflection of myself and the times. I guess it’s a kind of a play on words, a double meaning? I often write with double meanings in my life that tends to reflect my personal and world opinions at the same time. I don’t know I’ve always liked the coding. I really enjoyed creating the art work for the album I think it’s as important as the music inside it.
What are your projects ?
So I recently teamed up with NGP Brother, KC from Strvngers (http://strvngers.com/) to create some dark pop tracks for Goth clubs & DJ’s. We are the alter ego’s “Brian Blood” & “Sick Carter” , the black carpet icon’s rolling up in bat lambo’s. We are Bloodstreet and this is Bloodstreet Mania. BSB for life lol. #gothicboyband I don’t know, I’ve also been really into filming lately.
What do you expect from the future ?
I didn’t expect this future. So… I’m not expecting anything, but I go hard it’s all I know how to do.
