Hi everyone, we are Lambs from Italy!!! The band formed in 2013 but the current line up ( Cris on vox, Steve on bass, Shub on guitars and B on drums ) came together in 2016. Just after our second european tour, with our beloved brothers Hungry Like Rakovitz, we began to work on our first album, “ MALICE “.
What’s the story behind MALICE ?
Basically is a cursed tale that is focused on the timelapse from 2016 to 2018, but in a general way is all about beautiful and dangerous things.
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
Usually we start from a couple of guitar lines, on which we incorporate the rhythm section and secondarily the texts. All the work is done in the rehearsal room, where we all contribute with suggestions and critics to the final form of the songs.
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
Cris writes all the lyrics and the maily inspiration comes from the human behavior and the world around. From inner struggles to social thematics. Some hints come from Cioran's phylosophy as well.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
We are all into every kind of music, literally!!! black metal, death metal, punk hardcore, grindcore, thrash metal, hip hop, 80's darkwave, we all have different backgrounds and tastes, and that's a very good thing for the band. Among our influence we can surely name Nasum, Isis, Anaal Nathrakh, Tragedy, Gaza, Cursed...
In studio, what was the atmosphere for your new album ?...etc.…
“ MALICE “ has been recorded and mixed by Enrico Baraldi, and it was definetely a blast!!! Enrico's professionality and reliability really let us live the recording process in a totally relaxed and healthy atmosphere, in which we have been able to express ourselves in the best possible way. A little detail about the album is that we decided to record it entirely live, with no filters, as we wanted to give the audience the “ real “ sound of the band. We are extremely happy about the result and we hope you'll like it too!!!
How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?
The artwork is the final goal of a collaboration between Cris and two great friends and artists: Luca Guidi and Erika Maffi. “Malice” is a kind of embodiment of evil and tasty, it sounds perfectly sweet.
What are your projects ?
We are currently focusing our energies on supporting the album, and preparing for a couple of dates in the next months, including a show together with the cool guys in Implore and a release party to celebrate the birth of “ MALICE “ in Innsbruck, stay tuned!!!!
What do you expect from the future ?
Even with a new album just released, we are eagerly looking forward to compose new stuff, because we've already got some really interesting things in mind for you guys!!!
As we said, “ MALICE “ is the priority now, meaning that we plan to begin the writing process with the beginning of winter.
What's your motto ?
Malice is in the eyes of the beholder.
