What’s the story for CRITICAL METHOD ?
Critical Method was written in a very hectic period in the lives of all bandmembers. Struggling with relationships and life in general. But it sure was good inspiration for this album.
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
Brent mainly comes up with a rough idea created on ableton. I send iphone ideas to him which he sometimes uses in those ableton sessions.
With this rough piece of music we go to the studio room to create something together. More complex drumparts, different basslines,…
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
For this album, me and Brent wrote a lot together. The inspiration comes from daily life. For instance I was writing a zombie story on Catatonic Dreams and Brent finished it as a political/environmental statement. Lyrics are rather abstract and we want the people take it in as they want it.
In studio, what was the atmosphere for your album ?...etc.…
We were in the studio for a whole month. We came in the studio with 70% finished songs. A lot of magic happened during the recording sessions. We always worked from 10 a.m till 1 a.m. A lot of work but it paid off eventually. It was a rather relaxed atmosphere.
How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?
Brent found this design by coincidence on an instagram profile. We talked to the guy and he further worked on it and so he was our designer for the album.
How was the shooting of the clip CARELESS ? and why this choice ?
The Careless video was developed by Ysbear and raw footage of Jeroen Dewilde. The footage was mainly shot during a series of gigs. We thought it was a good idea to glue all these tiny bits together in a videoclip and let Ysbear (Felix Ysbaert) do his thing.
What are your projects ?
We have a couple of side-projects. Brent and Joris have a Dark beat band together with François Demeyere called ‘Raveyards’ . They also make techno under the name Brennt and Reisac. I am a mariachi-dj next to the band.
