We are NEVER AGAIN an spanish symphonic metal band.
For the moment, we are only two members. Fenrir, who plays guitars and sings some backing vocals, he also take charge of everything related with the sound recording, mixing and mastering, and Lilith, who plays bass and sings lead vocals.
We wear Monster Costumes to give a visual impact, representing two of our characters on their story on VOID IN BLACK.

What’s the story for VOID IN BLACK ?

All started five years ago, when we recorded our first work called “The Monster Single”,with that project we wanted to show to the people our musical ideas. We wanted to make something original, because we were know for making covers of many bands, but focused on LORDI, and that gave us the idea to “monsterize” us and give a new vision of our songs. Many people liked it and then we wanted to make something much greater and better, but for things in life, job, studies, etc, we had a period of two years that we had time for nothing.
After that period ended, we could start to write and compose songs again but having more experience on our shoulders.
After a year of writing and composing, we could start to think about recording a full album, we recorded VOID IN BLACK in eight months. It’s a pretty long period of time, but we had to deal with a lot of problems outside the music that slowed down our chance to go to the studio to record the voice lines, instruments were not a problem, because we record everything in our small home studio using earphones, but we can’t record voices because…neighbors…

Who composes ?...How does it work in the duo ?

Fenrir composed all the instrumental and lyrics parts, but during the years Lilith took a lot of experience while she practiced vocals, and she is now our strongest point when writing lyrics and melodic voice lines.
When inspiration comes to us then Fenrir creates small musical parts, having a base to start composing the rest of the song, while he creates more musical parts both of us choose a subject for the song depending of what the music expresses, then Lilith start to write and write, creating the voice melodies too, and right now is our way to make our songs. Each one of us has his part, Fenrir creates music, Lilith creates lyrics and voice lines, then we talk how to get the final cuts.

Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?

Lilith is right now the main lyric creator, she has a very powerful imagination and talent to create and make them fix into the song just with a few instructions about we want to write about.
We started creating songs that talked about betrayal and how to overcome it, but after two or three songs we unconsciously created a little universe, we just wanted to make it bigger, with characters, different situations and points of view, origins and all that stuff.
We had many many ideas and inspiration before we started recording everything, so we chose the best ideas and put them together. Anyway, VOID IN BLACK is just a part of those characters story, we have many more waiting to come out in next albums.

Why the name NEVER AGAIN?

Because as we said before, at first, our songs were going to talk about betrayal and how to overcome it. NEVER AGAIN is like a battle cry where you realize that you are on a point of no return, where you have to take a step forward, you have to beat all your fears and doubts, keep going and crush anything or anyone that wants to trample you, make you feel bad or hurt you. No, you have to stop that, and only you can do it.

What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?

Lordi, Sirenia, Nighwish, Within Temptation and Inkubus Sukkubus.
We have a lot of influence from those bands, but we didn’t want to be a rip-off of them, we have our own style and we cannot find a band similar. But when you listen us you can feel a bit of the spirit of those bands, and more than that, VOID IN BLACK is an album where the songs has some other metal influences, “Church Of Pain” has power metal influence, “Lilith” or “Void in Black” are more influenced by symphonic goth metal, “Press Scar To Play” has a strong thrash metal spirit, “I Bring HATE” has a lot of doom metal spirit. We are sure that every kind of metal listener will find a song of their taste.

In studio, what was the atmosphere for your album ?...etc.…

We record in our small home studio, so anytime is perfect to make sound tests, record the ideas that come to our minds, etc.
So, in our case being at the studio is something very natural, as staying in the kitchen or the living room, you have an idea, then you just start recording, programming midi tracks or whatever you need, quick and simple.
We recorded VOID IN BLACK in those days were life gave us little breaks, with a very relaxed atmosphere we recorded everything little by little.
Usually we programmed first the drumtracks and keyboards, then Fenrir recorded a temporal guitar guide to help other instruments recordings, Lilith recorded the bass lines, after that, Fenrir recorded the final guitar parts and solos, and finally we recorded vocals once all the songs were instrumentaly finished.

How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?

That was pretty easy, at first we were going to call this album “Church of Pain”, but once we started recording “Void In Black” we realized this song would be our warhorse, it has a very powerful beginning, atmosphere and dramatic tension during the whole track, remembering us our roots when we started creating our own songs.
About the design of the covers and CD, is just the idea we had for a possible videoclip of “Void In Black”, the darkest black hole that engulfs everything on its way with no distinction, nothing to leave, nothing to remember, just the greatest of the emptiness and the eternal oblivion.

What are your projects ?

After the VOID IN BLACK release (already released) we will go on making covers trying to make more visible our YouTUBE Channel, trying to reach more views, subscribers and showing the people our album.
We are also thinking about creating a comic about VOID IN BLACK, explaining in a more detailed vision about the events of the album.
Anyway we are starting to have new ideas for upcoming albums, but right now is the VOID IN BLACK era.

What do you expect from the future ?

We hope to reach to much more people, we are sure our album would like to many many listeners, the problem are the politics of sites like YouTUBE or other Social Networks that every day make more difficult to be visible, bands like us that are trying to start a career, we have a very low budget for everything, so we just try to do our best and show it to the people hoping to like enough to have a bit more of support.
