We are Cynical Existence a dirty electronic metal band from Sweden. And we are 4 guys who love to write and play music.
What’s the story for REBIRTH ?
Rebirth was the first album from us that is entirely metal, our previous albums have been more leaning towards electronic music and or industrial if you wish. With Rebirth we took a big step in changing our musical style.
Who composes ?...How does it work in the band ?
Fredrik usually writes the base of the tracks and then Will and Rodolfo writes guitars and bass and Anders records drums. Basically we write the tracks together and change or add things as we go along.
Who writes the texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?
Fredrik writes all lyrics exclusively. And mostly they are horror related. Inspiration comes from everywhere, the world,private life,movies etc etc.
Why the name CYNICAL EXISTENCE ?
Because humans are shit basically, and so I guess we have a Cynical Existence? The name came from all the stupid shit we humans do and it kind of sickens us.
What are your personal musical tastes and your influences ?
The list can go on forever, but we enjoy everything from Tool to Slipknot,Rob Zombie,Fear Factory etc.
There are so many influences so its hard to write them all down. Fredrik for instance is a huge fan of Pantera and was really inspired by Philip Anselmo.
What's your best live memory ? And why ?
This was a bit before Will joined us , but we played a small club in Kaunas in Lithuania and had no real expectations and the show turned out really well.
Crowd was awesome and we had a really amazing time.
In studio, what was the atmosphere for your new album ?...etc.…
Rebirth is really dark, both lyrics and musical wise.
Not really sure why it became that way.
Fredrik writes the synthesizers first and they are usually dark and atmospheric , so I guess thats why it sounds the way it does.
How does it work for the great design of the CD ? and why this title ?
We wanted a really unique design and Rodolfo knows a very talented photographer and design artist and she had some amazing pictures which worked very well for the album. And the name is to show how Cynical Existence was reborn with the new sound
How was the shooting of the clip NO WAY OUT ? and why this choice ?
The video shoot was a lot of fun and we spent a whole day with shooting and make up and everything. It was just great to be able to “act out”.
No way out is a really catchy song , so we thought it would be a good choice for the video.
What are your projects ? .
If you mean other musical projects.
We have a few.
Porque and RotnCore to name two of them.
What's your motto ? .
We don't really have a motto, we just do what we want and if its not worth doing we don't do it.
