Tommi ”Tuple” Salmela (Born 3. June 1969 at city of Kuopio Finland) is a Finnish heavy metal singer. He have performed in such bands as Tarot, and Lazy Bonez. Tarot is a pioneer of Finnish metal scene. May 2006, when Tarot released the new single "You", it made number one on the Finnish charts for the first time in the history of the band. During that time, the band formalized their long-time backing vocalist Tommi 'Tuple' Salmela as a band member after being with the band for more than a decade. Tuple have been perform and sing at Finnish localized version of "Clash of the Choirs" 2010 With Marco Hietala Tarot first time they sing together single version of Tarot song I walk forever what was great success.
2010, Tuple toured with Tarot in Europe, Brasil, Argentina Mexico, USA and Japan, and played big festivals like Prog Power and Bloodstock England.
Tuple`s music career have been long with singing background vocals lots of Finnish bands like Amorphis, Twilighning, Cardiant etc and of course he is a singer of Raskasta Joulua what is a band from Finland who have recorded traditional Christmas carols and Christmas hits in a Heavy metal style. Lazy Bonez is band where Tuple is a lead singer these days. Tuple have been sing with duet Bernie Shaw Uriah Heep at Lazy Bonez song Devils Dice.

What’s the story for WOODEN BOX ?

When I turn up to 50 years old he game up the idea to make a solo album with old friend and composer Riitis. My life that has been a kind of roller coast ride. You may say that the Wooden Box album is a kind of personal spiritual purification.

Your compositions and yourtexts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?

Those text are stories of my life. Some are sad and some happy. Maybe there is some ironic feeling inside. It is sometimes good to laugh at yourself :-) . all song are composed by Riits the Finnish Composer and really good frien of mine.

Are you day or night ?

Both. I like night time. Especially Finnish summer when we have this midsummer night. Just Finnish nature and landscape is awesome.

What’s your top 5 albums of all time ?

Hard Question. There is lots of good bands in the World. But let´s say:
Journey: Escape
Black Sabbath: Heven And Hell
Uriah Heep: Salisbury
Whitesnake: Slide it In
Strangeways: Native Sons

In studio, what was the atmosphere for your first solo album ?...etc.…

We all did our parts at home studios. It´s easy to make that way. I always need to take my time to get an atmosphere that I get into the emotion that helps me to find the right Vocal attitude. Every musician loved to do own parts for the album at their home studios and yes we are happy for finalized Album. It s great!

How does it work for the design of the CD ? and why this title ?

If you look Closely design you get the idea what those stick figures doing. Then you can get a hint of what I talking about at songtext 😀 Title is because the album starts telling a story of my Father who died 1975 and the albums last song telling story of my Mother.

How was the shooting of the clip WOODEN BOX ? and why this choice ?

I think it is great make it starts with that song. There is some kind of Finnish melancholic and emotional charge in that song. The shooting was good but it was that time when we got that Fuc....ing Corona time. we did have to do some advance arrangements for shooting the clip.

With Management and booking, how do you work ? And with whom ?

I don't have booking management yet. But all the album stuff manage AOR Heaven record company. Maybe someday You will see my show. We are now waiting and see how people will reach the Wooden Box Album.

What are your projects ?

My Projects are Lazy Bonez and TUPLE Solo album but maybe someday Tarot too. I now making some demo Vocals for ......🤔 the second solo may😁be. We are demoing Lazy Bonez songs too. And there is one old band called Vertical Hair Factory and we recording old songs to take on a new light.

Hey. Lets make music to speak. It is for everybody. Rock and Roll never die. Keep people yourself save for that bullshit Corona disease. We can handle it. Help all musicians over that disease and give you contribution for bands. So we can make more great music.
