Present yourself to the readers

Hey I'm Eliza Neals a blues-rock soul performer you never meet before but always thought existed somewhere. I was raised in metro Detroit went to Wayne State University traveled Europe, came back played seven nights a week for years and met Barrett Strong Jr. He put me in the old Motown school of singing/writing with many others and I'm the only one left. I create art with no convictions take it or leave it.

What’s the story for BLACK CROW MOAN ?

Washed up on golden grotto beaches in times of rage, is "Black Crow Moan." Eliza Neals lands squarely on blues-rock with the help of Joe Louis Walker (BB King, Blues HOF) and Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent.) Soaring high above 10000 feet below, Eliza Neals sultry feathers soothes the quarantined music lovers soul.

Your compositions and your texts ?..What are they talking about ?..How does inspiration come ?

I write my own music on piano and write my own words. I compose the entire song and hold that version in my head until I can communicate with my many musician friends to compose in the studio or the stage.
Well the best way is to hear my music and interpret it yourself. Some of my song titles could help you, like "The Devil don't love you," "Why you Ooglin Me," "10,000 Feet Below" and "another lifetime."
My crazy touring lifestyle now, my tough upbringing in a strict family in old Detroit, my wild music friends stories, wet dreams on happy hump night, my man who is a hot lover and a badass fighter and God.

Are you day or night ?

Both cause so much is up in the air for an performing touring artist. I am on when I need to be and off when I can. I can't choose one its not my choice, go time is always if you want to be nominated for a 2020 Independent Blues Award for "Roadwarrior."

In the shower or in the bath, do you sing ? If yes, your songs or those of others ?

I sing so much I'm usually warming up or placing my voice in the shower. I'm opera trained but left it for DetroitRock after I graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit MI.
oh who knows... Everything lol

What's your best live memory ? And why ?

Standing room only packed house for the second time inside the blues temple of America "Buddy Guys Legends" in Chicago. People were crying and balling and dancing going wild, we partied like the old days of music.
Well it was my coming out blues party the proof is in the pudding on video & Instagram. "Eliza Neals" arrived that night and everything changed after, cause I party hard always have, but this time a global audience got to witness it and man the phone has not stopped ringing.

In studio, what was the atmosphere for your new album ?...etc.…

I have many behind the scenes videos from many albums so you can get a feeling. Here's a cool story, I wrote a song called "Devil Don't love you" and performed it live many times before putting in on wax. I approached living blues legend Joe Louis Walker to play on it. He said yes, OK. So he calls and says "meet me at this studio on X date." I find the studio and it turns out to be a de-commission old church to put the "Holy Ghost" on it. I gave him writing credit as his arrangement is his and it changed to "THE devil don't love you." Check it out its deep very real life heavy blues, just the way I like it.

How does it work for the great design of the CD ? and why this title ?

Music and Art go hand in hand I'm talking to you through art and photography. All artists use every medium and should not limit themselves in any medium.
Each single or album title is different and I talk to art directors, play em a song listen to what they say. Other times it's not know until the last song is mixed the visions come to me at night "in my dreams." It must be art and stand alone if you never ever listen you can hear it playing looking at the art.

How was the shooting of the clip NEVER STRAY ? and why this choice ?

I loved filming on a hot day in a Jeep CJ7 it's all American like my hardcore Detroit.
Why Not someone has to represent, I'm not scared so why not me.

With Management and booking, how do you work ? And with whom ?

I have management but it's a loose group and when things go good we all make money... now. It's tough being completely independent. I have booking in the EU, Spain and UK. My booking in the US is internal and I'm shopping deals if they can do it better .
UK = Rhino Agency
EU = Kopopelli Music
Spain = Dwaves Events
US = Eliza Neals

Would you like to work with an artist ? If so who ?

Yes. I have worked with so many on my records; greats , Ikons, legends, Hall of Famers, unbelievable talents I'm humbled they even like me. But guess what they are just like you and me and if they are humble then you know they are even more badass.

What would you like to say to the readers ?

Stand your artistic ground if you believe in your music or art. Know it's not for everybody so the road will be long, hard and sometimes fun. The cream rises to the top, "be good at you" as BB King says. Don't sell out if you want to maintain control or you will be someone's project or their property. The flip side is know your worth and when to sell so being "stupid an broke" won't work either. Listen more than act early on then act more than listen as you come into your own. Don't forget to love what you do or it will show.
