What’s the story for ALMOST 11?

Almost 11 represents the shedding of the ego. It was a new way for us to bring metal music to new ears. The album is a landmark of spiritual awareness, a sonic fingerprint of sorts. We are the people's metal.

Who composes?...How does it work in the band? (for this album)

William Savant does all the musical composition for the band. William writes our music on acoustic guitar. After arranging the simple parts, we usually sit down and write the lyrics. Sometimes we'll make a quick draft and practice it for a while. Then he brings it to the rest of the band and we learn it together. We're hoping to write more with the rest of the band on the next album. It's tough, there's a lot of us.

Who writes the texts?...What are they talking about?...How does inspiration come? (for this album)

When it comes to lyrics, I work alongside William and we write them together. The lyrics of course have different meanings depending on the song. We tend to write about everything and nothing at the same time. We have a wide variety of topics, ranging from apocalyptic themes, love, lust, murder, the supernatural, and much more.
It's a combination of everything that we've learned together and experienced as a band, individuals, and maybe even the species. Where one foot is familiar with our comfortable experience, there is another part of our lives and experiences we can't explain. Our lyrics are a blend of transparent and obvious choice of words.

Why the name SEPSISS?

We wanted a name that was simple, one word, and a word that still sounded pretty metal... So why not base it off the infection?
The original word is spelled "Sepsis" (one "s" at the end of the word). We are NOT the blood disease, however. We decided to add the extra "s" at the end of the word on purpose to create "Sepsiss" and be uniquely ourselves. We are easy to find this way. This makes us google searchable.

What's your best live memory? And why?

My favorite live memory was getting to rock the stage with some bigger acts. I really enjoyed playing with bands such as Static-X, Puddle of Mudd, and David Ellefson. Being up on the big stage, the lights shining down on us, and the reaction from the crowd was enough to spark my inner fire.

In studio, what was the atmosphere for your new album?...etc...

The atmosphere was actually fairly calm and quiet. We recorded the songs at our own studio. We worked hard, kept ourselves focused, and pushed forward.
Sometimes we would find ourselves in a tough place...but we worked through it. Music doesn't come easily.

How does it work for the design of the CD cover? and why this title?

Finding the design for the CD cover was actually difficult for us. We never landed the artwork we really truly wanted. We had asked multiple artists to make this design for us, and none of them really hit the mark. After multiple attempts to get it right, we were running out of time and ended up with what we have today. I don't hate the artwork at all. I just wish we could've found what we were looking for.
As for the name... we were originally going to name the album "11:11", but we found out it was already taken. So as a band joke, we went with "Almost 11" instead. 'Cause the album was almost called "11:11". So we almost hit the mark there, haha. Not to mention, there's a strange phenomenon within the band where each band member has a tendency to see the number 11 almost daily. When the clock is about to hit that time, one of us yells out "it's almost 11!" That helped us form the name for the album as well.

How was the shooting of the clip BLACKLIGHT INVASION? and why this choice?

The shooting of this video was a different situation for us, and it wasn't easy. For our first attempt, we decided to build the stage ourselves on Cam Loud's mother's farm. Bless her for allowing us to do this. The boys all had to drag a bunch of HUGE pieces of plexiglass and stand them up just right to act as our backdrop and stage pieces. We had some black lights and other various stage lights hooked up and waited until nightfall to start filming. Now of course, this is where everything failed. Nobody had tried to film using these sorts of lights before, so the lighting really just looked terrible for the shot. It was either too dark or too purple. Everyone in the band was getting eaten alive by mosquitos and other bugs that were attracted to the lights. So everyone was getting restless but we had to shoot this scene over and over again. It still never worked out. After the failed attempts, we finally decided we would just rent a video wall. The video wall worked out great!
"Blacklight Invasion" was the song chosen to be released first from the album as our newest single. Since it was the single, we decided to throw in a music video to go along with it. It only made sense at the time to choose Blacklight Invasion.

With Management and booking, how do you work? And with whom?

Sepsiss has a HUGE work ethic. We will never turn down something if it's passed our way. We work alongside 434 Management (Derrick Pichon and Paul Crosby from Saliva). They will usually give us a call about possible endorsements or shows/ tour dates. Then we will discuss it and go from there.

What are your projects?(for the band)

-"Badd Blood" E.P. (released independently in April, 2019).
-"Almost 11" is our full-length album (released through Pavement Entertainment in August, 2020).

What's your motto?

"Let's go, Fuck it!"
